About Me
Hi! I'm Shriya and I'm a senior at Langley High School. I've been playing the violin for more than 11 years, and I enjoy sharing my passion for music through violin teaching and breast cancer fundraising. I was part of the American Youth Philharmonic Orchestra for three years, and I was the co-concertmaster of the American Youth Concert Orchestra. I also got the opportunity to play violin for an Indian movie soundtrack and, when I traveled to India, I learned a bit of and got exposure to Indian Carnatic violin. In my free time, I enjoy hiking with my family (we recently hiked rim-to-river at the Grand Canyon), reading, and listening to music. I look forward to meeting you!
Testimonials
My daughter Kaitlin has loved working with Shriya! She reinvigorated Kaitlin's interest in violin by finding an array of songs at a level that Kaitlin could stretch to learn and they were also songs Kaitlin recognized and enjoyed. Shriya is exceedingly patient and is a cheerleader for Kaitlin, providing constructive and encouraging feedback that helps Kaitlin improve and grow in confidence in her violin playing. Shriya also inspires Kaitlin by modeling her violin skills; Kaitlin gets to see someone only a few years older who plays skillfully and can teach, which helps her imagine the possiblities for herself if she continues to practice and learn.

When COVID started in Spring and schools closed, my son’s school could not provide violin instruction when they went virtual due to transition issues. My son wanted to practice but had trouble as no direction was provided. Thankfully, we found out that Shriya is volunteering to teach music to kids and I enrolled Raghav. Raghav had great instruction from Shriya. Shriya is a compassionate and skillful teacher at such a young age. She plays by students' strengths and interests (picked Raghav’s favorite Harry Potter music “Hedwig’s Theme”) as the first song so he got super excited and with her tailored lessons and continued positive feedback had a very enriching experience.
